The Kessler Crane Pocket Jib Traveler is the next piece of camera gear after you get a good tripod. Adding fluid movement to your camera shots will bring your production value to a whole new level. (see videos below!)
The Kessler Pocket Jib Traveler is compact, easy to setup and gives great results. Make sure your camera is properly balanced and then use one finger to gently move the jib arm through the shot. This is a great way to make static shots more interesting. Below you will also see a demo of the StudioFX 48" Pro DSLR Camera Slider. Cranes or Jibs, sliders and dollies have all been used since the early days of film making and are now affordable and available to everyone!
Special notes regarding arca swiss type mounting options:
Slider: To facilitate using the slider on various tripods I installed three arca swiss type plates. One on either end and one in the middle. This provides for a secure mount to the tripods. In most cases I will use two tripods - one on either end. I did test using the slider on one of my heavy-duty tripods at the center mount and it will work with one of my lighter cameras in a pinch. I will also most often use a ball-head mount on the slider again with arca swiss.
Kessler Jib: To facilitate using the jib on various tripods I installed an arca swiss type plate to the two 1/4 20 holes that are provided in the base. I used a Fotasy LP70 plate as it was long enough to attach to the two holes. This provides for a secure mount to the tripods. I even tested this mounting method on my lighter duty Induro CGT114 and it works ok. In most cases I will use either my C413 Induro or CT214 as both are sturdy tripods.
